About Us

I grew up on a dairy farm near Osler and I can always remember having allot of animals around me.  I was involved in 4-H and loved showing our cattle...I always laugh when my Dad bugs me about my obsession with showing dogs and I tell him that it's his fault because it all started with the cows.  I can always remember wanting to have a kennel with lots of dogs, I remember saying to my Mom when I was in my early teens that I would have a kennel someday.

My love for the Yorkshire terrier began with the purchase of my first female Abby 6 years ago.  Abby was by no means a show quality female but she was so sweet and I just knew this was the breed I wanted to show.  My Daughter Cassandra has joined me in the fun world of showing dogs and thus the Kennel name CryCa was born.  Together with my Husband and daughter we travel to 6-10 shows a year and we love spending time with our dogs as well as our very best friends who love dogs and showing just as much as well do.

I began my search for my first show dog a few years ago and I fell in love with the dogs from Jala Yorkshire Terriers.   Laura & Jackie were so gracious in starting me out with my boy Nitro and he is more that I had ever dreamed of.  They have been so supportive in my journey in learning to take care of Nitro.  Nitro finished his Championship in September 2010 in Lloydminster and has been handled exclusively by our family in Canada. Nitro finished his American Championship with Kristen McGregor in August of 2012. We are very proud of his accomplishments and he is now enjoying retired life. Our Yorkie Sadie joined us in January of 2012 and even though she didn't turn out to be the show dog we hoped for we love her fun spirit and hope for some nice Yorkie Puppies from her and Nitro.

Our West Highland White Terrier girl Lulu joined us in December of 2010 and we fell in love all over again.  She has been such a joy to show and she just oozes that fun Terrier spirit.  We have expanded our Westie crew to add Dory,Chatty & Maestro and we are so excited about being able to work with Linda from Windacre Westies in developing my Westie breeding/Showing program.

Our dogs are a huge part of our lives and even though our website says Cryca Kennels, we are by no means a kennel.  Our dogs live in our home with us and they come camping with us and our puppies are raised in our home with lots of socialization.   The training and showing of our dogs is something I am constantly working on.

We hope you enjoy browsing our website and if you have any questions we welcome your emails.
